Everything Starts At the Foundation
Foundation Point Inspections provides professional visual home inspections for buyers, sellers, and homeowners throughout West Georgia and Metro Atlanta. Our goal is to help clients make informed decisions through clear communication and detailed inspection reports.

A home inspection is a non-invasive, visual examination of the readily accessible systems and components of a home. The inspection helps identify observable defects and provides clients with a better understanding of the home's condition at the time of the inspection. Buying a home is typically the biggest investment you will ever make, so it's important to get a home inspection because the inspector can find and document defects that may or may not be obvious to you as a prospective buyer. Such defects can range from simple replacements or repairs to severe damage or safety and health concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions
What information is important when researching home inspectors?
When comparing home inspectors, it’s helpful to look at their training, certifications, insurance coverage, sample reports, and how clearly they explain what an inspection does and does not cover. You may also want to consider experience in your area and whether their services fit the specific type of property you’re buying.
What credentials do Foundation Point Inspections inspectors carry and why are they important?
Foundation Point Inspections is certified through InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors). This means our inspections follow established standards of practice and a code of ethics. These credentials help provide a consistent framework for how we inspect and report on visible conditions at the time of the inspection.
What insurance does Foundation Point Inspections carry and why is it important to me?
Foundation Point Inspections currently carries Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance and General Liability insurance. This coverage is designed to help protect both the company and our clients in the event of certain covered claims. Insurance does not guarantee a particular outcome, but it is one part of operating in a professional and responsible way.
What is the inspection agreement, and do I have to sign it?
The inspection agreement explains what the inspection includes, what it does not include, and the limits of the service. It also outlines important terms and conditions. The agreement must be reviewed and signed before the inspection so that everyone understands the scope of work and expectations in advance.
What does the inspection include?
A home inspection is a limited, visual examination of the home’s readily accessible systems and components at the time of the inspection. This typically includes major areas such as the roof, exterior, structure, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, and interior, as outlined in the inspection agreement and applicable standards of practice. It is not a code compliance inspection, guarantee, or warranty of future performance.
Do I have to attend the inspection?
Clients are welcome to attend the inspection, but it is not required. Many people find it helpful to be present near the end so they can ask questions and review key findings in person. If you cannot attend, you will still receive a written report summarizing the inspector’s observations.
How do I pay for the inspection?
Payment is due on or before the day of the inspection. Inspection reports are released after payment has been received and the inspection agreement has been signed. Once your inspection is scheduled, you'll receive an email with your inspection agreement, invoice, and secure payment instructions.
Is it necessary to have a new home inspected?
Even newly built homes can have defects or incomplete work. A home inspection on a new property can help identify visible issues before closing or before a builder’s warranty expires. The inspection is still limited to what is visible and accessible at the time and does not replace any municipal or code inspections.
What is the cancellation policy?
To avoid a $90 cancellation fee, please cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled inspection. Same day cancellations will be charged half of the inspection fee. If you are purchasing a new construction or foreclosure home, you or your realtor should make sure the utilities are turned on at least 24 hours before your inspection is scheduled.
